Call for H2IOSC Transnational Mobility Grants

The H2IOSC project is pleased to announce a new opportunity for researchers: the Transnational Mobility Grants. These grants are designed to encourage research collaborations and knowledge exchange between CLARIN centres in Italy and across Europe.

Grant Opportunities

Long Mobility Grants: 5 grants available for research visits of 2 weeks, each funded between €6,000 – €7,000.

Short Mobility Grants: 11 grants available for visits of up to 1 week, each funded between €3,000 – €4,000.

Eligibility

Applications are welcome from:

  • Researchers and experts within the CLARIN community looking to strengthen collaborations with CLARIN-IT.
  • Scholars interested in learning more about CLARIN and incorporating infrastructure methods into their research.

To be eligible, visits must be conducted at CLARIN centres and consortia in Italy or other European countries.

Suggested Topics for Proposals

Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Joint Development of Resources and Services: Creating new language resources (e.g., corpora, lexicons, annotations) or tools that address research gaps within the CLARIN infrastructure.
  • Fairification of Resources and Services: Enhancing the FAIR (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability) aspects of existing language resources and services.
  • Integration with CLARIN: Improving seamless access to language resources and services within the CLARIN infrastructure.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Developing training programs on CLARIN-related topics, such as data management, tool usage, and research methodologies.
  • User Engagement and Dissemination: Promoting the use of CLARIN resources through workshops, conferences, hackathons, and other outreach activities.

Eligible Costs

Grants can be used to cover travel expenses, accommodation, subsistence, and event-related costs (e.g., workshops, seminars). Note: Travel, health insurance, and personal liability (RCA) costs are the responsibility of the researcher.

Application Process & Timeline

This is an open call, and grants will be awarded on a rolling basis until funds are exhausted.

  • Call Opens: February 2025
  • Proposal Evaluation: Ongoing as proposals are received
  • Visits Completion Deadline: August 2025
