May 19, 2025 | Online Preliminary event

May 26-28, 2025 | Brienza, Potenza, Italy

The workshop Experiences in Digital Epigraphy Compared, organized by CNR ISMed and CNR ISPC within the framework of the PRIN2022 URBE and PNRR-IR H2IOSC projects, aims to provide a space for dialogue among digital epigraphy projects operating in diverse historical, cultural, geographical, and linguistic contexts.
The event, to be held in-person from 26 to 28 May 2025 in Brienza (Potenza), seeks to foster critical reflection on tools, methodological challenges, and research perspectives related to digital editing and analysis of epigraphic corpora.

Additionally, a preliminary online event is scheduled for May 19, from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This session will provide a preview of the epigraphic corpora to be discussed, featuring presentations by seven specialists.
They will showcase a selection of epigraphic documentation ranging from III-millennium BCE cuneiform to II-millennium Aegean and Cypriot scripts, as well as Northwest Semitic and pre-Islamic Arabian alphabetic corpora, and inscriptions in the languages and scripts of ancient Italy.

Participation in both events is open to the public. Please note that all sessions will be conducted in Italian.
