H2IOSC was present at the GenOA Week 2024, held from 4 to 8 November in Genoa. The event’s theme was “Community over Commercialisation”. Throughout the week, a variety of communities presented their initiatives in support of Open Science and engaged in discourse on prospective scenarios and actions to be taken.

During the sessions organised by CNR, in particular the one dedicated to Research Infrastructures for Open Science, researchers from different institutes involved in the H2IOSC project, including CNR IMATI and CNR ILIESI, examined the ways in which these infrastructures facilitate Open Science practices by promoting transparency and reproducibility. H2IOSC and its RIs federated were frequently referenced in the presentations, underscoring their significance within the community.

H2IOSC also participated in the Comunità Italiana dei Data Steward (CIDS) meeting session organised with the collaboration of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). The research group involved in Work Package 8 of the H2IOSC project, in particular the CNR ILC and CNR OVI institutes, presented the methodology employed by H2IOSC in the creation of training materials for the Italian social sciences and humanities and cultural heritage community.

The presentation outlined the training strategy of Work Package 8, “Training, Capacity Building, Engagement,” and detailed the adaptation, creation, and management of educational materials as complex digital objects. The presentation outlined the connection of the implemented workflow to the “FAIR-by-Design” methodology developed under the Skills4EOSC project and the use of the “Minimal Metadata Set for Learning Resources” by the Research Data Alliance.
Finally, the training platforms of the H2IOSC project were introduced, including the “Training Environment” for managing training events and the “H2IOSC Library” for the storage and versioning of materials.
