The “Glossario delle Infrastrutture di Ricerca”, which is produced as part of the H2IOSC project, will be presented on Friday, 22 November, at the XXXIVCongress of the Ass. I.Term (Associazione Italiana per la Terminologia) titled “Terminologia e trasferimento delle conoscenze: valorizzare i saperi, trasmettere la conoscenza“. The event will take place in Milano at the Università degli Studi di Milano and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore on 21 and 22 November.
The presentation will be delivered by Lucia Francalanci (CNR-OVI) and Alessia Scognamiglio (CNR-ISPF). The content will focus on the motivations behind the creation of the “Glossario delle Infrastrutture di Ricerca”, which include:
- The often undocumented specialist language of Research Infrastructures (RIs)
- Ambiguities in the terminology used
- The lack of bibliographic references for consultation
- An identified training gap
The main objective is to create a reference lexicography for the terminology of Research Infrastructures (RIs), where “lexicon” refers to “the set of all terms belonging to a specific linguistic system,” in this case, that of RIs.
The scope of this initiative includes the development of the “Glossario delle Infrastrutture di Ricerca”, defined as a “collection of vocabulary from specialized areas, organized alphabetically and defined using more common and comprehensible terms.”
